BUCKS COUNTY CONSORTIUM Thursday, May 7, 2009 Meeting Minutes Call to Order: A meeting of the Bucks County Consortium was held at Chalfont Borough on May 7, 2009 and called to order by Mr. Tieperman at 9:35 a.m. Roll Call and Introductions: The following Bucks County communities were represented at the meeting: Timothy J. Tieperman, Warrington Twp. Also in attendance: Dave Woglom, Meyner Center Approval of Minutes - April 2, 2009: Mr. Cjazkowski made a motion, seconded by Mr. Olpere, to approve the Minutes of April 2, 2009. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report and Payment of Bills Mr. Tieperman presented the Treasurer’s Report for the month of April 2009. A motion was made by Mr. Cjazkowski and seconded by Ms. Weniger, to approve the Treasurer’s Report for April 2009. Motion carried. Presentation: Mr. Laurence Uher of Spiezle Architectural Group gave a presentation on sustainability and carbon printing. Mr. Uher discussed several “green” projects in the area, a variety of grants available for local governments, and presented a slideshow on “green” projects and potential cost savings. His presentation was followed by a question and answer session. The second presentation was given by Jay Shaffer of Apex PM Solutions. His presentation was on electronic document and bid management. Mr. Shaffer was proposing a collaborative approach for the Consortium. He will send out a survey to all Consortium members to gauge interest in the software and then present the results to the Consortium Executive Board for further discussion session. Community Updates Ms. Weniger gave an update on the Labor Law Workshop scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2009. Dave Forrest from Norristown Borough gave information on Act 110 signed last November that does not allow municipalities to preregister deeds. He is looking for support from more municipalities on a new bill. Dave Woglom from the Meyner Center asked the Consortium for confirmation on whether they would be performing the yearly salary survey. They were told to move ahead with the survey. Mr. Olpere reminded members about the Leadership Conference being held by the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors in May in Lehigh County. He also asked the group if any municipality had a good bid template. Mr. Tieperman reminded the group about a seminar on Act 32 EIT collection being held on May 27 th. Adjournment Mr. Cjazkowski made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:37 a.m. This motion was seconded by Mr. Tate. Motion passed.
