Meeting Minutes

A meeting of the Bucks County Consortium was held at Solebury Township on June 7, 2007. The following individuals were present:

Preliminary Remarks

Gail Weniger called the meeting of 7 June 2007 to order, announced the morning's agenda, thanked Solebury Township for hosting, and thanked members for attending the June meeting of the Bucks County Consortium.

Approval of Minutes

John Cornelius made a motion, seconded by Bob Pellegrino, to approve the Minutes of 3 May 2007. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report

Vivian Bell presented the Treasurer’s Report for the month of May. Motion to accept the report was made by Joe Czajkowski and seconded by Bob Pellegrino. Motion carried.

Presentation: “County & Local Government GIS Partnerships”

Peirce Eichelberger - using a Power Point presentation – discussed how Chester County partners with its municipalities, school districts, and water authorities. He stated that Chester County attempts to show revenue as a way to offset staff costs and other fees, and that it is a key component in adequately staffing and keeping its data up-to-date. One way it generates a revenue stream is through the use of its information by land use organizations and real estate sales.

Chester County provides free access to limited records. Concerns related to unlimited data sharing might include those related to utility, police, and security.

Presentation: “Establishing GIS” & “GIS: Gateway to Information for Municipalities”

Matt Martini & Bill Brokaw, respectively, presented the two topics.

Annual Consortium Picnic Update

Jeff Vey discussed preliminary plans for the upcoming picnic to be tentatively held on July 13 th - a week earlier than originally planned. He stated that more information on the event would be distributed in the next few weeks.

GIS Consortium Group

Gail Weniger recommended that Katrina Harding be appointed as the coordinator for a newly formed GIS Consortium group. Bob Pellegrino made a motion, seconded by Joe Czajkowski, to appoint Katrina Harding. Motion carried.

Consortium Salary Survey

Katrina Harding reported that the annual Consortium survey was now available. Gail Weniger stated that the survey will be a topic for the October Manager/Asst. Manager meeting.

New and Old Business

Gail Weniger notified the membership that paperwork requesting membership for Northampton, Bucks County, Municipal Authority and Yardley Borough Sewer Authority has been received. Action on membership was not taken at this meeting due to the inability to have a 2/3 majority vote. A vote will be taken at the September meeting or electronically.

Adjourn

Bob Pellegrino made a motion, seconded by John Cornelius, to adjourn the meeting at approximately 10:00 AM. Motion carried.
