Meeting Minutes

A roundtable meeting of the Bucks County Consortium was held at Luigi’s Ristorante Italiano, Warrington Township, on November 6, 2003. The following individuals signed an attendance sheet indicating that they were present:

Preliminary Remarks

John Cornelius called the meeting to order, and announced the morning's agenda. Also, he stated that a holiday party would be held on 5 December 2003 at the Savory Grille in Blue Bell. The holiday party would be a joint event held by both the Bucks County and Montgomery County Consortiums.

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Paul Williams, and seconded by Bob Pellegrino, to approve the Minutes of 2 October 2003. Motion carried.

Treasurer's Report

The Treasurer's Report for October 2003 was presented. Paul Williams made a motion, seconded by Stephanie Mason, to approve the Treasurer's report of October 2003. Motion carried.

John Cornelius reported on the status of dues, and the new membership classification of “Associate Member.”

Election of Officers

Stephanie Mason made a motion, seconded by Paul Williams, that the slate of officers for 2004 be closed. The slate of officers included Frank Farry, President; Bob Pellegrino, 1 st Vice-President; Jeffrey Vey, Second Vice-President; and Vivian Bell, Treasurer. Motion carried.

Stephanie Mason made a motion, seconded by Paul Williams, to approve the slate of officers. Motion carried.

Roundtable Presentation: “E-Government”

John Cornelius introduced the panel of speakers for a roundtable discussion on “E-Government.”

  • Jay Sklarow is Executive Vice President of United Computer, based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. United Computer is a premier provider of computer system integration, consulting, network services, and computer network infrastructures. The company specializes in municipal work – currently serving Northampton, Lower Southampton, and the Lower Bucks Joint Municipal Authority in Bucks County; and Whitpain, Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd, and Lower Moreland in Montgomery County. Jay’s primary responsibilities include managing a team of account representatives who work hand-in-hand with customers and engineers in the exchange of technical information as it relates to business solutions. He has been working with local PA and NJ municipalities for almost fifteen years, and has been active with many municipal-related organizations, such as the APMM and the GFOA. He has extensive experience in the implementation of system administration, network management, complex WAN & LANs, network operations, technical support services, and network security.   • Joshua Wood is a certified ShopSite Designer with Comcation, Inc., located in Doylestown, PA. Comcation, Inc. was established in 1994 at the start of the internet explosion and was organized to provide high quality, business oriented internet services. Joshua Wood has been building web aites and creating compelling interactive multimedia content since 1992. Clients have included American Express, Kwasha Lipton, Visa, Nolen Companies, the City of Philadelphia, Kremer Laser Eye Center, Volkswagon of America, and many others. His work has appeared in ZD Internet Magazine, Forrester Research. Computer Graphics World, & Philadelphia Magazine. He has been a member of the Comcation Team since 1998, is in charge of creative site development through the production cycle, and has just been honored as the first Certified ShopSite Designer.
