Guest Speaker/Topic Information:

Jean Pugh - After receiving a Masters Degree from the Institute of Public Administration at Penn State University Park, Jean served as the Research Director for the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities. She also served as Assistant Manager in Upper Moreland Township and as the Mid-Atlantic Account Manager for the ICMA Retirement Corporation. Prior to her position as the Director of Group Business Programs for the PLCM, Jean worked as a Development Assistant and Tennis Coach for Villa Madonna Academy. A native of Allentown, she has lived throughout the U.S. and in Canada and recently relocated to Harrisburg from Cincinnati, OH.

Mary Beth Lake - After receiving a Masters in Business Administration at Penn State Harrisburg, Mary Beth worked as Community Relations Director at Fredricksen Public Library (Camp Hill), where a wide-reaching pubic relations strategy involving local government and area residents resulted in a $6.4 million capital campaign. After leaving the Fredricksen, Mary Beth was PR consultant to several capital area organizations. Over the last 20 years, she has taught Business Writing, Public Speaking and other communication courses at Messiah College as an adjunct professor. As the Member Services Manager of the League, Mary Beth is the “outward face of the League,” answering questions and offering information to the League’s members. A native of Upper Moreland Township, Mary Beth and her family have lived in Central Pennsylvania since 1984.
