Guest Speaker Information:
Thomas Hough – President of Hough Associates, a Consortium sponsor, will provide a ten minute presentation on DEP’s leaf and yard waste collection requirements, and how new requirements will affect future grant funding levels.
DVRPC & Partners – Dr. Bill Elmdorf, Extension Specialist at the Penn State School of Forest Resources, and Maitreyi Roy, Director of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Philadelphia Green, along with representatives of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission will discuss the TreeVitalize Program. Launched in 2004, the program was designed to restore tree cover in Southeastern Pennsylvania, and to help municipalities implement tree projects to achieve a variety of community goals. Grant funds are available through TreeVitalize.
