Twenty years after its organization, the Bucks County Consortium of Communities continues to demonstrate the value of regional cooperation in local government through the successful operation of a wide variety of inter-municipal programs. Examples of these are the following:
Joint Bidding:
Road salt, heating oil, gasoline/diesel, road materials, pipe, leaf recycling bags, road paint.
Drug Testing Program:
As required by federal mandate, all CDL operators must complete random drug tests. The Consortium reviewed the situation and contracts with a service to provide random testing to all Consortium communities as a single gap.
Governmental Mandates:
Member municipalities often cooperate in addressing expensive state and federal mandates.
Personnel and Labor Relations:
One of the most important Consortium functions is the sharing of personnel information such as salaries, benefits, and labor contracts.
